Join the Team in 2025
Current Opportunities
We are often looking for sparky people to join our teams at both our Junior (Yrs 7-10) and Senior (Yrs 11-12) campuses.
Working at the junior levels of VHS may suit individuals that:
have worked at senior primary levels
have come to education settings later in life
want to return to working with young people in a different context
have had their creativity constrained in other workplaces
want to explore the possibilities for education in schools of the future.
If that sounds like you, read on…
current ROLES AVAILABLE
Maths Mentor - Years 7-10
At VHS, our students have the choice of working through the Maths curriculum online (via Maths Pathway) or in face-to-face classes (or a combination of both). We are currently looking for a teacher who is able to oversee and support the progress of all students, and deliver engaging classes for students who prefer learning with a teacher.
Classes are grouped by curriculum level, rather than enrolled level, and many of these students enjoy learning through hands-on activities rather than just textbook.
The role is 0.5FTE (over 3 days) and we are flexible with days, although would prefer there is some space between two of the days.
For early career teachers, the pay level will be close to the Victorian Government Schools Award, particularly if you have had experience in an alternative education setting.
The role is based at the Ryanston Campus.
Assistant Mentor - Years 7-10
Our Assistant Mentors are the glue of our community. They assist mentors in classroom settings, support students in all sorts of activities, and have the space to use their initiative and offer their natural talents and interests in a skill-sharing way.
Our Assistant Mentors feel a strong affinity with the adolescent stage of development and know how to be good adult role models. They also understand that young people today express their uniqueness in a variety of ways and come with beautifully individual brains.
Roles are based at our Ryanston Campus.
